I’m Marc Allen,
Founder and publisher of New World Library. Over the past 40 years, I’ve published close to 1,000 titles, and have had the privilege of publishing some of the best-loved authors in the world — authors like Eckhart Tolle, Deepak Chopra, Shakti Gawain, Dan Millman, and SARK.
I’m confident I can be of help to you no matter where you are along the spectrum of writing — whether you’re looking to be traditionally published or are thinking about self-publishing or other creative options.
Even if you do decide to self-publish, you may be hoping a traditional publisher will eventually take you on.
But here’s something most publishers won’t tell you:
We get lots of submissions. The majority of them now are emails, but a lot of them are still packages that come via snail mail. They’re put into boxes that we call the “slush pile.”
I’ve always had mixed feelings about that term: It’s not at all respectful, and I realize that every one of those submissions is someone’s dream. Someone with hopes and often expectations that we’ll publish their manuscript,
the result of so much work on their part.
And what do we do?
We have someone (usually the newest, lowest paid employee) plow through the boxes of submissions
with the instructions to put aside anything that might be of interest to us, and reject the rest.
The manuscripts are sorted into three piles, with post-its on the table in front of them identifying each pile.
The first is a big pile of rejects: It usually contains about 90% of the submissions.
The second is a small pile with a few manuscripts worth considering further, usually less than
5% of the number that came in.
And the third is labeled “You’ve gotta see this” — and it has the craziest submissions that are so off-the-wall they’re hilarious.
Someone’s dream has become an unintentional source of entertainment for our whole staff.
This is just the first problem writers are up against when it comes to the traditional publishing world.
“
"Thank you, Marc, for an amazing series that explained in great detail all of the aspects of the publishing process. It was fascinating! So grateful for all of the help!"

If You have asked yourself 2 or more of these questions then you are in the right place.
Writing is an act of vulnerability in itself, and much of an author or artist’s struggle is in letting the world see their work.
Yet the whole process can go smoother than you realize when you arm yourself with the right knowledge and know
what to expect along the way.
This course is designed to put your mind at ease.
All of these questions, and many more, will be answered for you.
There are many reasons we get stalled and stuck on the pathway to success — and nearly all of them stem from the false ideas, false beliefs, that have taken root in our consciousness.
This program will expose the lies and myths that can so easily sabotage you. It will help you discover what’s been holding you back from taking action, and show you how you can change your beliefs to move you towards your dreams.
Stop polishing and start publishing!
Sometimes knowing when your book is finished is just as problematic as getting started!
Whether you’re finding it hard to get started or to complete your work, you’ll especially love what one of our speakers, SARK, has to say about it. She’s known for providing creative and practical ideas for getting your writing into the world.
"If you are writing or creating anything new, it is easy to become trapped in some form of
polishing. Polishing by itself isn’t bad, what’s not good is incessantly delaying a creation
based on what one or more of your inner critics say about it."
SARK is a bestselling author and artist, with 17 titles in print and well over three million books sold, including the national bestsellers Succulent Wild Woman, Bodacious Book of Succulence, Eat Mangoes Naked, Prosperity Pie, Juicy Pens Thirsty Paper, Glad No Matter What and her newest book Succulent Wild Love.
She is also the founder and Creative Fountain of Planet SARK, a thriving business that creates innovative products and services to support empowered living.
Who This Teleseminar is for:
“
"Marc, thank you for this outstanding course! Each session took us deeper into the publishing part of actually publishing a book and had something really valuable to offer us writers.
The material was so well structured and presented -- clear, simple, and with a sobering but inspirational arc for our book's journey from computer to agent, to acquisitions and in-house editors, through marketing and income producing ideas, and to promotion.
I thoroughly enjoyed this course, and it inspired me to finish a proposal, have it edited, and start researching agents. Again, thank you.
