I remember an old TV show when I was a kid called “Amos ‘n’ Andy” — there was this bit of wisdom when Amos and Andy go to Kingfish, and say,
“Kingfish, where did you get your good judgment?”
“From my experience,” says Kingfish.
“And where did you get your experience?”
“From bad judgment.”
Yes!
Our own bad judgments — which lead to bad experiences, mistakes, failures — are the greatest teaching tools we have.
So many people fail to learn from their own mistakes! But smart people learn from their mistakes — and the truly wise learn from the mistakes of others.
I have a holiday wish for you:
May every one of your mistakes, missteps, and bad experiences bring you in this moment to a wonderful place, where you love and embrace every bit of yourself, and every bit of life itself.
For every moment of your life has been perfect, because it has brought you to this moment that you can embrace with love.
Peace,
