Our country was founded by great visionaries who invented a brilliant new form of government far superior to anything else in history.
Their vision was expressed in simple words: All men are created equal (and later on women were clearly included as well) and are endowed with certain inalienable rights — absolute, undisputable rights — including life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
That phrase is our great guiding light. Any activities that prohibit or interfere with anyone's rights are to be shunned and avoided. Any demonization of others, any violence toward others violates the great principles that are the bedrock, the foundation of our great democracy.
The founders of our country were mostly Christian. To this day, most of our politicians call themselves Christians. Christ, too, gave us a phrase that is a great guiding light: "Love one another, as I have loved you."
Any person who demonizes others or harms others is not a true Christian. Christ would not tolerate violence toward others. His love embraced all of humanity, even his enemies. That's why he is called the Prince of Peace.
The solutions to so many of our problems are simple. They were given to us in very clear words by our founders and by Jesus Christ. They form the roots of our democracy and the core of Christianity, and can guide us in every moment of our lives.
All people deserve life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. That includes you. That includes everyone else.
Love one another. Live in peace.
Those are the simple keys to creating a world that works for all.
Be well,
